Supporting Education, Enterprise and Charities

For detailed information on our recent charitable work, see pages 5-9 of The Lanthorn. Please click here.

Our Livery Charity Fund contributes around £70,000 annually to charities and educational  activities. We currently support some 20 charities and give over 30 awards, and support research &  students at eight universities and in several schools, with the focus on:

  • Charities which have a direct link with the Company and/or with the City of London
  • Enterprise and educational activities associated with our Tin Plate and Wire Working trades

Our Chamberlain Enterprise Award’s primary aim is to encourage  young people into enterprise and industry, which was Past Master Leslie Chamberlain’s passion.

The Company is the largest single donor to the London Taxi Drivers’ Fund for an annual outing to Southend for disadvantaged children, with members of the Livery contributing £5000 in 2016.

All Liverymen are encouraged to make an annual donation of at least £100 and every new Liveryman makes this commitment; a collection is also taken at each Court meeting. The Charity also benefits from bequests from Liverymen and in 2003 received a most generous donation from the Chamberlain Family Trust.

Registered Charity No. 314211.
